Pages & the editor.

Simple pages vs code pages, the HTML/CSS/JS editor, previews and revisions.

Pages & the editor

Pages are the content of your site. This guide explains the two kinds of pages and how the built-in editor works.

Two kinds of pages

Simple page Code page
Best for Text, images, basic layouts Interactive, custom-designed pages
HTML/CSS/JS Limited (sanitised) Full control
Forms & scripts Stripped on render Allowed (securely sandboxed)

When creating a page, pick the kind that fits. You can start simple and add a code page later — most sites mix both.

Creating a page

  1. Open your site and click Pages, then Create page.
  2. Give the page a title and a slug (used in its web address).
  3. Choose the page kind, then write or paste your content.
  4. Save. The page is live on your site's URL once the site is published.

Using the code editor

Code pages open in a tabbed editor with HTML, CSS and JavaScript panels. A few pointers:

  • The editor saves a draft as you work — use Publish to push the draft live.
  • Preview shows exactly how the page will look before it goes live.
  • Keep JavaScript modest: external scripts are limited to approved CDNs for security.

Revisions

Every publish saves a snapshot. Open a page, click Revisions to see the history and restore an older version at any time — the current version is always saved as a new revision first, so restoring is safe.

Access control

Each page can be public, restricted to logged-in visitors, or restricted to site admins. Set this in the page's Access option.
